How do I know which service is right for me?
You don't need to know the specific type of psychotherapy or service you're looking for in advance.
We can work together to determine what may be most supportive of you, based on factors such as your goals, preferred working style, comfort level, current stressors, and overall needs. If you'd like to explore your options, we invite you to book a free 15-minute consultation, where we can talk through what support might be the best fit for you.
How do I know which therapist is right for me?
Finding the right therapist is a personal process, and the best way to know if someone is a good fit is to meet them.
That's why all our therapists offer a free 15-minute initial consultation. During this conversation, you can share your needs, preferences, and goals, ask questions about the therapist's approach, and get a sense of whether the connection feels right for you.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. Many extended health insurance plans in Canada provide coverage for psychotherapy or counselling services delivered by Registered Psychotherapists (RP) and/or Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying), as well as Registered Social Workers (RSW).
Our services are not covered by OHIP. However, if you have extended health benefits through an employer-sponsored group plan or a student insurance plan, you may be eligible for reimbursement, depending on the specific terms of your policy.
Coverage varies widely between insurance providers and individual plans. We recommend that you contact your insurance company directly to confirm:
• Whether psychotherapy or counselling services are covered
• Which provider designations are eligible (e.g., RP, RP (Qualifying), RSW)• Your annual coverage limits and reimbursement rates
While our therapists are registered and qualified providers, we are unable to verify insurance coverage on behalf of clients. Your insurer can provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding your benefits. Official receipts are provided after each session for reimbursement purposes.
Fees & Cancellation Policy
Fees
Session fees vary depending on the type of service and length of the session .
To support accessibility, our clinicians offer a limited number of sliding scale spaces. Availability is limited and subject to clinician discretion. Please inquire directly with your clinician or contact our administrative team at care@torontopsychotherapy.org for more information.
Our psychotherapy services are not covered by OHIP, but they may be claimed as medical expenses for tax purposes.
Payment
All fees are payable by credit card at the time of service.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that life can be unpredictable. At the same time, late cancellations create gaps in clinicians’ schedules that cannot be filled on short notice.
To respect the time and availability of our clinicians, we require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
• Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance: No charge
• Late cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment: 50% of the session fee
• No-shows or cancellations with less than 2 hours’ notice: 100% of the session fee
Cancellation fees are not covered by insurance.
